I see research as a

scientific

storytelling

My research brings aspects of human experience into clearer view.  Now a hermeneutic-phenomenological researcher, I co-create knowledge with participants. The result: stories grounded in evidence that don't explain human experience, but develops a narrative which resonates.

My research brings aspects of human experience into clearer view.  As a hermeneutic-phenomenological researcher, I co-create knowledge with participants. The result: stories grounded in evidence that don't explain human experience, but describe it so that it resonates.

Canadian pathologist and pathologists' assistant wellbeing

Pathologists report the lowest psychological wellbeing in Canadian medicine. I’m focused on building systems that support the individual pathologist. First, we map the barriers and enablers of wellbeing so that interventions in pathology are informed by pathologists.

Physical medicine & rehabilitation

I study the lived experience of disability and how novel spasticity treatments shape patients’ lifeworlds. I am engaged in researching physician education and grassroots initiatives.

Human-animal bond

We know that human-animal relationships can be instrumental to wellbeing. But why? I am interested in exploring the tacit and internal psychological processes at work.

Theoretical writings

I explore existential thought and contextual behavioural science. I look at them separately and together as I try to create a dialogue between the older philosophy and modern science.

I see research as a form of scientific storytelling. In studying a phenomenon, we gather evidence and shape it into a narrative that is meaningful to people.

Research & Publications

Do you work in private practice?

No. I am currently completing my doctorate in counselling psychology. As part of the doctorate, I am working with clients as a trainee therapist in a number of placements and internships. These include at Therapy Horses & Affiliates in Mauritius where I see clients in-person, and at Dilemma Counselling.

How does it work?

In our initial sessions, I aim to understand your experiences and the challenges you are facing. It's essential that this time allows you to assess whether you feel comfortable working with me. The duration of therapy varies for each person and is ultimately determined by you as the client.
